Fast, friendly, gracious service, delicious noodles, clean kitchen. I went back for the pumpkin curry, which was also top-notch tasty. Spice level was exactly as requested. Vegan and gluten-free options available. Burmese music created pleasant atmosphere. Look for the Eater article to read about the food cart’s interesting origins. Village Kitchen is the real deal!

Yum! Best tea leaf salad I’ve ever had. Perfect spicy, perfect funkiness. Friendly service and really quality presentation for a cart. Very charming little cart pod, just removed from the busy-ness of 23rd. My friend got a curry and I was slightly jealous. Can’t wait to come back and try everything from here.

I only regret, that I have but one stomach to eat a meal at Village Kitchen right now. I'm thrilled we found this place, and I'm going to go out of my way to make it back. I had the Village curry + paratha + egg & rice add-on for the kid, and everything was excellent. The curry has such a unique, slightly sour taste (in an amazing way!). Admittedly, I normally like sweeter coconut milk based curry, which this is not like *at all*, and this blew that out of the water. The paratha, too, is so different from Naan and almost has an elephant ear fried type of texture, which went great with the curry. Great value, unique and amazing flavor, and quality offerings.

Phenomenal, the rice noodle was a nice & refreshing for it being a hot summer day. Lil hint of ginger. The chai was unlike any other chai I’ve had and sooooo good. Lots of GF options.

Discovered this burmese fusion food cart while roaming past Portland's famous 23rd Ave. This place stood out amongst the typical fish and chips and burger / beer fare and has a healthy amount of vegetarian options. And wow. Their pumpkin curry (with tofu) and paratha dish was amazing. The curry is different from Indian curry. Super smooth, rich and just the right texture. And it's served on a big leaf, which was cool. The tofu was soft, kinda like mapo tofu and it made the dish so finger licking good. Saw there were more dishes so will be back to try more

The food, the flavor, the service, etc were amazing. Super delicious and low-key at the same time. There are many choices on the menu (you can easily make everything vegetarian too.) Definitely loved this place and will be going back! Eggplant stew is so delicious by the way.

Exceptional food! I've been visiting Village Kitchen regularly over the past couple of months since their food is just amazing. I am totally addicted to their paratha with pumpkin masala and the village salad. The flavors are vibrant and on point and one of the best I've had for this cuisine. They help adjust the spice levels which is great. We are normally able to find a seat near the inside of the food cart pods area or in the covered patio area outside. Village Kitchen team - Love your food! Keep doing what you're doing.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed these guys yet. I have eaten from this truck a bunch of times and the quality of the food is top notch and never seems to vary. The Burmese food here is as good as any others I've tried in Portland and mostly better! I've had most of the menu and there's nothing I couldn't recommend. The flavors are bright and sharp and it all tastes freshly made. I just had the curry and the noodles and loved them both. It's a food truck so five stars for the food truck atmosphere.
